We first became aware, nay intrigued, by Carina Round when we saw her supporting the Gutter Twins in Oxford a few years back. We purchased a CD-R at the gig, which showed considerable promise with its mix of experimental indie rock and folkish tendencies and a voice that is as expressive and unique as any currently out there.

Since then we loosely kept up to date with her activities, but as yet had not checked out her recently released debut album proper Tigermending.

Well, not until we heard these four tracks courtesy of a free Noisetrade sampler that is, which has shown us exactly what we have been missing out on. We will be rectifying that oversight forthwith…
