We love Fire Records. Hot on the heels of a number of notable recent releases (Wooden Wand, Lower Plenty, Tom Morgan to name but three) comes yet another in the shape of Australia’s psych-popsters Blank Realm and their excellent forthcoming new album Go Easy.
Sitting somewhere between the melancholic churn and burn of Mercury Rev and The Flaming Lips and the noisy squall of Sonic Youth, the four-piece (including three siblings no less) gleefully meld psychedelia with punk and pop and even a smattering of blues licks, all to fantastic effect.
Go Easy delivers a sonic battering in the very best way – check out the seven minutes of taster Cleaning Up My Mess.
The album gets a digital release in mid-February and a physical release (available on CD or Pink 180 gram 12″ LP) on the 4th March. Pre-order here.
