Arrows of Love have set June 3rd as the release date for their new single The Knife, via Urban Fox Records. The Hackney 4-piece have also announced a full UK tour starting this week that will see them perform in twelve cities before they visit Europe for shows and festivals.
The Knife forms arguably the most suspenseful single lifted from their forthcoming debut album, Everything’s Fucked, that will be released this summer. It’s a delicate, folk-inflected, blood-splattered murder ballad that reveals a band with a tar-black heart.
And all that, as you can imagine, is right up MM’s proverbial alleyway so to speak. Unsparing lyrics are intoned over hypnotically simple percussion and a matter-of-fact malevolence pervades through every note of the song.
“Now feel the love, cut so quick
My open wound, the blood runs thick
But you look good, and I feel shit”
The reverse So Very Predictable is rawer, more directly confrontational and showcases a whole other side to the band.
Listen to both, stay away from the cutlery drawer…
