Introducing >>> Fox & Woman

Fox & Woman formed in 2010 when Jess Silva (vocals), Andrew Nelson(guitar, keys), and Emily Haltom (vocals, violin, keys) started playing at a weekly street poetry gathering in San Francisco’s Mission District. As an acoustic trio, they rehearsed and wrote songs in the basement of a local antiques store, discovering a shared desire to stretch pop song forms to accommodate unconventional rhythms and harmonies.

Fox & Woman will release This Side Dawn on May 31st, an album that is as intricate as it is dense. Have a listen to a couple of tracks from it.

  1. you upload so many posts everyday, and frankly, quite a few of them are pretty bad choices. I follow almost a dozen blogs, and i wanted to give it a shot to yours too, but it is impossible to follow with so many entries everyday.
My suggestion would be : please be more selective.
    best,
    k

    1. Surely one person’s bad choices are just as likely to be another person’s good ones – that’s the beauty of music. We like everything we post so feel we are already pretty selective – we get more than 200 emails every day on average so have a lot of listening to do. As for posting too much – it’s just a hobby for us, it costs us in time and money to host mp3s and use WordPress, and we only do it for the love of sharing (authorised) music we like and which we feel deserves to be heard. We’re sorry if it is too much in your opinion, and not selective enough, but we have to keep on doing what we like and believe in!

  2. Hello there!
Sorry but I agree with Kasey. I feel like I have just been wasting my time while I go through your posts. Most of them are not that great, what is the word, decent, yeah, decent music, but I already encounter with decent music everyday in other venues. If I am following a blog, I’d expect much more filtering.
and please don’t get me wrong, I still will try to follow this blog as I have been doing for a while now, but frankly, not as religiously as several other blogs that I follow. 1-2 songs a day, fine, but what you post here is simply like itunes new releases section
    Cheers,
    Meredith
