Perennial Mrs M fave Mark Lanegan is nothing if not prolific. Following his solo album last year and collaborations in recent times with Moby, Queens of the Stone Age, Duke Garwood, Isobel Campbell, and Soulsavers to name but a few, he has now announced the release of a covers album, Imitations, in September.
The first taste comes in the shape of John Cale’s I’m Not The Loving Kind, and the album also includes versions of such mainstays as Mack The Knife, Nancy Sinatra’s Bond classic You Only Live Twice, Frank Sinatra’s Pretty Colors, three Andy Williams tracks including Solitaire, as well as more contemporary tracks from Nick Cave and Chelsea Wolfe amongst others.
Imitations will be out on September 17th.
