We’re liking the sound of this limited split 7″ (and digital) release by Carton and Alpha Cop via Negative Fun Records (out July 16th, order from their Bandcamp page here).

We previously posted about Carton’s excellent Sunburst EP a couple of months ago, and their contribution to the split, Fingertips, is a slice of thrillingly ramshackle, wonderfully loud and bruising noise-pop that, if nothing else, will utterly terrify the grandparents.

Alpha Cop’s The Low Flags veers wildly between plaintive campfire shouting, growling metal chords, a long ever-mutating, rhythmic drone, and chiming instrumental indie-rock. Sprawling doesn’t come close to doing this coruscating slab of experimental rock justice.
