Canada’s Les Jupes hover somewhere between classic American folk and British post-punk, making for an unusual and arresting combination – one which overflows with a richness of melody and drama.
Their forthcoming EP is titled Negative Space (out 30th September) and this track, Hold Me Down, is a perfect example of their craft: emotive, deceptively simple and instantly memorable. Fertile imaginations are at work here.
