It’s December, so it feels a bit more appropriate to start sharing some of the better Christmas related songs we’ve been receiving and our first is from PINS, one of our favourite band discoveries of the year.
They are sharing Kiss Me Quickly (it’s Christmas), a song taken from a Christmas compilation curated by the band, featuring the likes of Shinies, September Girls, Brown Brogues and Post War Glamour Girls, to be released on their Haus of PINS label.
Proceeds from the compilation go to SWAP, an organisation helping asylum seekers and refugees. “The idea behind it, at risk of sounding lame, is just to give something back,” says vocalist Faith Holgate, inspired by her grandfather, who at 81 years old continues to volunteer for the charity. “It’s hardly being Mother Teresa, but you know, it’s all helping a good cause.”
In our proper ‘day job’ our work is all about fundraising so we’re very happy to give this one a plug, even if the band weren’t so damn good! The song also features as the b-side to their excellent new single, Waiting For The End, which gets a release via Bella Union.
You can buy the compilation here.
