Another From Stone Jack Jones

Mad Mackerel Recommends… Stone Jack Jones

Although he has been round for a good number of years, the ambient tinged, unsettling Americana of Stone Jack Jones and his new album Ancestor has been a new discovery for us, and one of our favourites of the year so far.

We’ve already given you a couple of tracks from the album here, and now we have a third in the shape of the mesmerising Red Red Rose, another stunning example of his ominous, spooky balladry – like something you’d hear in a twisted fairytale (not that most fairytales aren’t twisted already).

Ancestor is out on the 18th March via Western Vinyl.
