Los Angeles-based Line & Circle arrived on the national scene in 2012 after releasing acclaimed debut 7″ single Roman Ruins / Carelessness on White Iris Records.
Last spring, they returned to the studio to begin recording new material developed during the band’s two recent tours. There, with nods to early 4AD dream pop and chiming I.R.S. Records-era guitar rock, the group pared the songs to their essence – simple melodic phrases and hooky repetitions that contrast and challenge weightier themes contained in the lyrics.
Mine Is Mine is the first song to emerge from these sessions. Rhythmically urgent, melodically rich, and emotionally restless, the track delivers on the promise of the band’s debut single and offers a tantalizing glimpse of recordings yet to be released.
