Tomorrow sees the release of SOFT, the new album from Rathborne, a band centred on songwriter Luke Rathborne.
At times bouncy-Ramones, with splashes of Dylan, Pavement, The Strokes and Lou Reed, SOFT feels concise and poppy, with plenty of darkness lying under the surface, dusting its cotton candy melodies with a fine layer of grit.
Nowhere is this better demonstrated than on the latest track to be shared from it, the infectious slice of NYC garage rock, Why.
