New From Blessed Feathers

Blessed Feathers are one of our favourite bands who regularly appear on MM, so we’re delighted to share their new track Huaycan Song #2, released by Honeytone Records as part of their ‘Singles Series‘ project. The song was written partly on a concrete rooftop outside of Lima, Peru, and partly in the various bedrooms and basements of their friends across Wisconsin. Mad Mackerel Recommends… Brown Sabbath

Brown Sabbath is the alter ego of Austin-based psych-funk collective Brownout who delve deep into reinterpreting the catalogue of metal godfathers, Black Sabbath. The results – a kind of middle-school-talent-show-meets-Clockwork-Orange tone somehow works for their raucous and unruly sound, decorated with vivid wordplay and Egyptian-esque harmonic-minor scales. .   Continue reading Video: Wytches – Robe For Juda

Both artists were performing their own individual sessions at WXPN’s Free At Noon concert and joined forces for a one-off performance. Never thought we’d be posting about Boy George on MM…. . .
