Hardy Morris has announced the July 30th release of Audition Tapes, the debut solo album from this talented and prolific Athens, GA based musician. Stark and startling in its evocative, atmospheric power, Audition Tapes sees Morris unleashing something quite unique, a kind of outlaw country … Continue reading Debut Album From T. Hardy Morris

Another Taste From Laura Marling’s Once I Was An Eagle

We have already posted Where Can I Go? the first offering from Laura Marling’s forthcoming album Once I Was An Eagle (out 27th May). The album is picking up uniformly good reviews and sounds like it may well be her best yet. This second taste from it is the altogether more insistent and threatening Master Hunter, which comes across as equal parts angry and frustrated, … Continue reading Another Taste From Laura Marling’s Once I Was An Eagle

MM Shorts 369: The Numerators

This week, Suicide Squeeze has released a new 7″ from Texas jangle-psych freaks, The Numerators. Return Of The Builders & The Butchers

They now have a new album, Western Medicine, in the pipeline that draws its inspiration from the post-apocalyptic stories of Cormac McCarthy no less. The first taste is Dirt In The … Continue reading Return Of The Builders & The Butchers

More From Weirds

Exactly one month ago we posted a debut track from the excellent Weirds, the guttural swirling neo-psych of their forthcoming single Crocodile. Now we have the b-side, smothered in oily guitars, Yolk is a feral, pulsating sonic barrage that we are thoroughly enjoying, and which further cements their place at the top of the “ones to watch closely” list. The single is out on the 27th … Continue reading More From Weirds

MM Recommends…Wampire

We were stupidly oblivious to the diverse charms of Wampire until we were blown away by the driving drums and electronic organs of recent single The Hearse, and subsequently discovered that the duo have an album, Curiosity out this month. They have made a new track from the album available for streaming, and in contrast to the single, Trains is an excursion into more easygoing, laid-back … Continue reading MM Recommends…Wampire
