The Riverboat Gamblers is one of our favourite ever band names, and they will hit the road this October with Cobra Skulls in support of their new album The Wolf You Feed, out now on Volcom Entertainment. The Wolf You Feed perfectly captures the often-forgotten era of the Dictators and Iggy Pop’s weirder solo stuff while still retaining a remarkable amount of variance in in … Continue reading Riverboat Gamblers Album & Tour
Wet Nuns are a hedonistic hardcore junkyard punk duo who deal in the kind of ferocious riffing and vocals that sound as if they’ve been forcibly extracted from the bowels of hell. As you might expect, they sing songs about “women, death and beer“, and mighty good songs they are too with recent single Throttle proving especially good for scaring OAPs and the like. Their … Continue reading New Single From Wet Nuns

A hard-edged psychedelic rock song, reminiscent of the past, this tune is full of bluesy guitar riffs and an incessantly driven piano beat. And in front of it all is lead singer James Arlowe’s captivating voice, singing about a alluring woman “and she’s crippled me, and she’s crippled my … Continue reading MM Shorts 215: James Arlowe & The Ruffian Circus
We thoroughly enjoyed the Dolfish debut 7″ EP Your Love Is Bummin’ Me Out (see our post here) with its collection of short, sad, bitter and darkly humorous folk songs that evoked everything from Daniel Johnston to Times New Viking. Dolfish is actually 23-year-old Cleveland born songwriter, Max Sollisch. His first proper LP, I’d Rather Disappear Than Stay the Same features a backing band of Iowa musicians … Continue reading More From Dolfish
