New EP From Fall Fox

Since early 2010, Chicago indie-folk songwriter Christian Keck has performed and recorded as Fall Fox: a moniker fitting for an outfit that has drawn comparisons to lo-fi folk acts such as The Mountain Goats and Ghost Mice. Throughout the project, Keck has embraced the DIY bedroom pop aesthetic, weaving acoustic guitars together with analog synths to form an intimate and inviting canopy of sound. The followup to … Continue reading New EP From Fall Fox

Mrs Mackerel’s TFI Friday (28th October)

Arrogance is a wholly unpleasant characteristic. Confidence, yes; arrogance, get ye out of my bloody space. Despite the urge to strike back, I pay homage to the way of the Mackerel: bide your time, wait awhile, then just wait for the penny to drop.  As MM always says, much better to know, step back, remove from the payroll, metaphorical or otherwise. What goes around often … Continue reading Mrs Mackerel’s TFI Friday (28th October)

MM Shorts 24: Active Set Video

Here’s a new video from the upcoming Active Set album 11. The song was inspired by an old interview with L.A. songwriter Warren Zevon, who was said to have turned down a story in the New Yorker when he was dying of lung cancer, saying that they should have reached out when he was alive. The song was written as a dark tribute to him. … Continue reading MM Shorts 24: Active Set Video
