Here is the new video for NØMADS’ Traumatophobia (the fear of being injured), the bands’ November single. It was filmed as part of their Live From Pittsburgh series whose sessions will get an exclusive vinyl-only release in the autumn of 2018. The track is from their forthcoming conceptual double EP PHOBIAC, an album based on clinical phobia-based fears.

Brooklyn post-punk duo NØMADS have released their August single Phasmophøbia (the fear of ghosts or the paranormal).
The band is in the midst of their conceptual Phøbiac project, wherein they release a new song about clinical phobia-based fears. The project is going to be split into two EP’s, Phøbiac Part 1, which’ll be out in October, with Part 2 to follow in early 2018.
Featuring swirling, long-form synth improvisation, and man vs machine drums, Phasmophøbia tells the story of an ex-lover, haunting the streets of the paranoid narrator’s daily world.

A few very choice tunes have come our way recently and which for one reason or another we’ve been slow to post them.
So here is a quick and dirty round up of some of them!
First up the very welcome return of the wonderful Pink Mountaintops and the first taste from their forthcoming album Get Back. We also have the brilliant Bass Drum Of Death and new single Black Don’t Glow, and very much in a similar vein we have more sonic mayhem from NØMADS.
We also have new tracks from two of our favourite songwriters; Richard Buckner in the form of Gauzy Dress In The Sun from the forthcoming expanded reissue of Bloomed and Chad VanGaalen’s Where Are You? from his new long player Shrink Dust. We have the spaced out punk of The Ketamines and the much anticipated new single from The Men, and Magic Bones’ excellent ode to Aussie punk rock, Round The Block.
Rounding off our rounding up are a track from the Woolen Men’s latest EP Quick Trips, and from Those Darlins, Why Can’t I, one of the standout tracks from last year’s excellent Blur The Line album. Finally Let’s Wrestle’s new album is garnering lots of positive column inches and you can hear just why with Rain Ruins Revolution – witty, sarcastic indie rock at its best.

Now that the new year is slowly grinding into gear and starting to pick up some momentum, we are starting to see some really tasty new releases being promoted. Here is our pick of a few new tunes from new records that we are really looking forward to…
First up, we have another gorgeous track from Marissa Nadler’s new album July, and a live taster of the first new record in two years from We Were Promised Jetpacks. The near perfect indie rock of Portland, Oregon’s Rare Monk is well worth checking out, and we have the sonic intensity of Brooklyn two-piece NØMADS to contrast with the vintage, ‘swingadelic’ heady bliss of the brilliantly named Jitterbug Vipers.
Next up is the degenerate raucous rock of Fat White Family’s new single Touch The Leather, and finally (for now) the brilliant Kelley Stoltz has a new single of shimmering psych-pop titled Cross Your Mind backed with The Anarchist In Me – you can stream the latter below.
