Tancred – Reviews

Tancred (aka Maine-based musician Jess Abbott) has announced the follow-up to 2016’s well-received long player Out of The Garden.

The new album is titled Nightstand (out on 1st June), and the first track to be shared from it is Reviews.

The propulsive song showcases Abbott’s strong melodic sensibilities balanced with purposeful, well-placed instrumentation, but one that cunningly sugarcoats the introspection and vulnerability that help make her work so distinctive. The record juxtaposes her experiences of being a woman and being queer in today’s society with the fact that there is still comfort to be found during times of isolation or alienation.

Have a listen. Pre-order the album here.

Videos of the Day

Last day of the working week, so celebrate with some new videos. We have the twisted, gnarly rock’n’roll of Shannon & The Clams, some sweetly dissonant pop from Tancred, Swedish lo-fi psych from No Coda, country-psych from Immigrant Union, and slacker rock from Charleston’s Elim Bolt.
