Mrs Mackerel’s TFI Friday

It’s one rule for you and another for everyone else.  Do as I say, but not as I do.  And so on.  On Thursday, the original MM site was taken down without warning, without a backward glance, without apology, by some faceless individual/s at a soulless organisation. All that hard work switched off, tuned out, unplugged.

Unlike some we could mention, however, we are passionate about what we do, and it was heartening to hear from so many of you with words of support and encouragement.  We were down, but never out.

Big thanks go to the guys and gals at Hype Machine for keeping us up there even with the enforced relocation – which means that we can keep giving new and emerging bands and artists the visibility they want and deserve.

So it’s been quite a tumultuous week here at Mackerel Mansions. Your enemies cannot harm you but watch your close “friends”. Hmm.  So now we come to you from a new host – WordPress – but as ever bringing you some old faves to welcome in the weekend.

If music was our first love, then punk was MM’s first kiss. So let’s kick off with a classic from The Mob, Witch Hunt brilliantly remixed, followed by a bit of shin-dig with Chicken Legs Weaver.  Couldn’t have put it better myself.

Enjoy.
