Some Great Free Stuff

We’ve come across a number of excellent freebies recently and thought we ought to share some with you.

First up, top record label Suburban Home have been releasing a series of excellent mix cds for a while now, which this time (volume 5) they have made available as a completely free download. Containing 30 tracks from bands old and new – Townes Van Zandt through to Tin Horn Prayer via Slobberbone, Drag The River and many many more, you’d be a fool not to check it out. A few bands have made new releases available in exchange for your e-mail address. These include the first offering from the Black Angels new album, from Eels new one, from Caitlin Rose, and a free EP from Jim Noir that recalls Syd Barrett and Village Green Preservation Society era Kinks. Lastly MM folk faves This Frontier Needs Heroes are offering a pay what you want deal for their new single (watch the video below).
