If nothing else, Balding College Girls by The Hairs would be a contender for song title of the year.

Thankfully, the music backs up the title and we have a band that is quirky, funny and clever, able to match classic pop riffs with a lo-fi aesthetic and a confidence that makes it hard not to be immediately captivated.

From Brooklyn, The Hairs are as cool and as chilled as the territory demands, but thankfully have sacrificed none of the musical chops required to stand out from such a crowd. Covering topics as varied as scabies, houseplants and prisons the band has something to say about most things and do it in a way that leaves you wanting to hear more.
