Glass Owls hail from New Zealand and released their six track debut EP Dead Love earlier on this year. While it may have taken its time crossing the world to get to us, we’re glad it eventually arrived battered and bruised, but still demanding to be played.

And deservedly so. The EP is well crafted, intelligent indie pop with nods to folk and garage rock and even a touch of psych, all adding up to a pretty compelling mix.

Our sample, the EP’s lead track, Griffin Boy falls on the more raucous side of the fence, all swaggering attitude and studied nonchalance, it oozes an effortless smoking-behind-the-bike-sheds cool.

Download it and hope some of it rubs of on you…
