Carnivores / Dinosaur Feathers New Split 7′

London based blog Music Mule is taking the step from virtual to physical with the release of its debut record, a 300-limited-edition pressing of a quadruple A-side split 7″ from Brooklyn’s Dinosaur Feathers and Atlanta, Georgia’s Carnivores.

Tropical flavoured garage punk outfit Carnivores have just released their second album If I’m Ancient through Double Phantom in The States. Parent’s Attic is lifted from that record and features the breathless, petulant vocals of classically trained pianist Caitlin Lang. Dressed For The Rain, fast becoming a live favourite on the band’s current U.S. tour, is exclusive to this release, a garage-Doors-esque number that builds from a brooding slow start into a psychedelic swirl of a track.

Dinosaur Feathers are a psychedelic, harmony ridden three-piece from Brooklyn who come across like a wonky-Beach Boys or a poppier Abe Vigoda, whichever floats your boat. Teenage Whore, from the band’s self-released U.S. debut Fantasy Memorial, has garnered them much hype and acclaim the other side of the pond. Young Bucks, their exclusive offering for the release, sees a more straight up guitar pop side to the band.
