We first became aware of the marvellously named Slug Guts via the last Insound monthly mix and a top tune titled Town Tied.

Slug Guts hail from the barren, heat stricken confines of Brisbane, Australia, apparently a town as desolate as it is depressing and suburban. In the first four months of the band, Slug Guts recorded their first LP Down on the Meat, and went on numerous Australian tours before heading back into the studio and recording their thirteen-song sophomore album, Howlin’ Gang.

The music is a cauldron of seething primal punk-blues holler with a twisted take on everything from goth to garage – with the whole lot thrown into a dustbin and stamped into submission. Brilliantly.
