Here is a quick selection of five excellent new videos that have caught our eye (and ears) recently.

Jade Jackson creates a sound that is simultaneously new and old, merging a youthful spiritedness with a weary storyteller’s perspective usually reserved for veteran artists. Stylistically the sound is unapologetically country rock. It merges the heartbreak and resilience of Lucinda Williams with the melodic confidence of Emmylou Harris, yet contains the emotional presence of a young musician who cherished albums by The Gun Club and Smiths alongside the works of George Jones and Hank WilliamsMotorcycle is a song that channels a tough girl swagger and reluctant vulnerability set to a haunting post-punk Western sound.

Fast rising post punks IDLES have released a chaotic and hilarious video for outstanding new single Stendhal Syndrome. Just watch it.

Psychedelic heroes Singapore Sling have shared the video for Riffermania (KILL KILL KILL), the second single from their forthcoming LP Kill Kill Kill (Songs About Nothing), officially released on Fuzz Club on 2nd February. Their latest effort sees the band at their most sinister, immersive and unforgiving and the Lynch-esque video showcases their sleazy and discordant rock’n’ roll at it’s best.

Baked are sharing the video for their new single Danelectroladyland which captures the band on the road from last year’s US tour with Titus Andronicus and Spider Bags. The track comes from the band’s upcoming album Farnham, due out February 24th, a mix of dusty country, blistering shoegaze, fuzzed out indie, and slow burning rock ‘n’ roll. Steeped in a slow rolling fog, Danelectroladyland opens with a warbling calm before eventually peeling its way into a thick wall of sound.

Lastly, Garrett Pierce shares his first visual from his forthcoming LP Dusk. The video for Distant Thought is a gorgeous journey through his natural habitat along the coast of the Sonoma and Mendocino counties in Northern California.
