We’ve mentioned the excellent label Sleep All Day Records before on MM and they have been back in touch to say they are gearing up to release the second EP from East London’s Weird Dreams titled Hypnagogic Lullaby.
Following the band’s sold out tape on Sleepy King Cassettes, and a split 7″ with Brooklyn’s Total Slacker on Marshall Teller Records, Weird Dreams see the addition of a second guitarist bringing a layer of haze and weaving arpeggios to the party.
While the group are still trading in mutant soul-inflected garage, this direction takes them deeper into your somnambulant state: shimmering guitars sweep in from the dark recesses of collective memory, chasing down the impassioned vocal which grounds the sound in a modicum of reality.
The EP is set for release on 15th March, and limited to 250, hand numbered, white 12″ vinyl – you can order here or you can listen to the title track below.
