Treetop Flyers Are Glastonbury Bound

Treetop Flyers have just been crowned winners of the Glastonbury Emerging Talent contest, winning themselves a slot on the main-stage at this year’s event. Beating off competition from a host of excellent, unsigned acts (picked by a broad selection of UK bloggers over the last few months) the London quintet impressed the judges – including Michael and Emily Eavis – enough to bag themselves the coveted slot.

Having recently wrapped up a tour with MM fave Caitlin Rose, the band have also announced details of a brand new 4-track 10″ single Things Will Change, which will be released via Communion Records on the 23rd May, together with a full UK tour and summer festival dates to support the release.

Check out Long Cold Winter from the single – a reflection of the typical seasonal British malaise. It is a perfect example of their vibrant, soul tinged country rock that calls to mind influences from Crosby, Stills and Nash to My Morning Jacket.

  1. Love this band! Only discovered when they were announced on this year’s (rather lovely) Camden Crawl line-up, but they’re on my must-see already. Late to the party, but here now … and there over the bank holiday, for sure.
