We’ve already given you a taste of the lyrical music of The Great Book of John – recalling Jeff Buckley’s psychedelic soul and Leonard Cohen’s poetic (and lacerating) wordplay, and matched to some fiery fretwork.

Whereas the band’s debut album, Yves’ Blues, was a largely acoustic affair recorded in one long session, new album, the self-titled The Great Book of John is brimming with amplified crunch and a thick, somnambulant atmosphere.

The album is out on August 16th on the Communicating Vessels label.
