We’re loving this first taste from Cate Le Bon’s forthcoming EP release CYRK II, out on 20th August via The Control Group. It follows on from last year’s excellent CYRK album.

During the CYRK sessions, back at the beginning of 2011, a grand total of 15 songs were recorded. As they began to form as finished articles they naturally pooled into two camps and CYRK II is the older sister, bearing songs of a more starkly confessional nature.

What Is Worse is beautifully reminiscent of The Velvet Underground at their weary, foggy best – an uncomplicated and unadorned slice of late night melancholic pop.
