Paperhaus released its alt-country styled self-titled EP in 2011, and will release its second effort, an EP entitled Lo Hi Lo on May 28th and it reflects the more pop side of Paperhaus’ psychedelic music. Grab yourself Helicopter from it.

Denver’s School Knights has spent the last few years playing shows with the likes of The Black Lips, King Tuff, Cloud Nothings, Ty Segall, Vivian Girls, Woods, METZ, Porcelain Raft, Japanther and more evolving into something much more than just a lo-fi garage band. School Knights has become an amalgam of harshness and beauty… a blend of riffs, harmonies, textures, and noise. El Cantador began with introspective folk ballads on their 2007 EP Orange, moved on to Americana tinged rock on 2008’s The Ground EP and expanded their sonic palette still further on 2011’s Fools For Light full-length. Their latest release, an EP titled Translation Wave is a cinematic, intimate collection of songs that hum with a warmth and rawness akin to some of those older, classic albums you might find in your local record bin.

Clap for Daylight is a 4-piece indie rock band with a keen sense of melody reminiscent of Death Cab for Cutie and Jeff Buckley, while subtle textures and classic guitar crunch round out the sound. They have recently completed new album Fire Escape, have a listen to One And The Same.

Half Hour Hotel are an indie rock band from Brighton with a big, full sound and who have a new double A-side single Run From Sirens / Another Life out now.

Singer-songwriter Amy Blaschke has a new album, Desert Varnish which heralds a return to her ethereal vocal roots and has a collection of songs as beautiful as they are restless. It is sparse, confessional stuff, and singularly lovely.

Finally, an artist known for his haunting melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, Jeremy Squires poetically deals with his personal struggles with mental illness throughout his songs and albums. His latest EP, Central Nervous Station was self-released in January and will be followed-up with a new full-length album, When Will You Go. In the meantime he has released a new single Ghostlike which is available, along with the rest of his back catalogue, from his Bandcamp page here.
