New six-piece, Lola Colt are an intriguing proposition – a fusion of influences that are as visual as they are aural – from the spaghetti westerns from where they take their name, vintage films and unusual Asian stage instruments picked up on their travels through to the Velvet Underground, shoegaze and even a splash of Morricone styled Americana.
Debut single I Get High If You Get High is a big, powerful slab of psych rock expertly melding eastern-tinged drone with west coast reverb and riffage, delivering something which is heavy enough to threaten your speakers in a very good way indeed.
Very promising and out via the excellent Too Pure Singles Club in July.
