We Knew It Was Not Going To Be Like This is the forthcoming album from New Zealand quartet Surf City.

The track NYC tells of singer Davin Stoddard’s short time living in New York and captures a haze of broken connections and isolation in the belly of the city. It continues their love affair with psychedelic, reverb-swathed, fuzzy guitar rock while a warm, lush production ensures that this should find favour with ‘most anyone with a J&MC record in their collection.
