We are very much looking forward to Mark Lanegan’s covers album, Imitations, due out on the 17th September.

It includes his versions and rewordings of songs ranging from Andy Williams standards to a Bond theme classic to the great John Cale to more modern offerings from Nick Cave and Chelsea Wolfe. We’re suspecting eclectic isn’t going to come close to describing it.

For now we have this stop-in-your-tracks version of the Twilight Singers’ Deepest Shade.
