Mad Mackerel Recommends…Electric Eye

Hailing from MM’s ancestral home of Norway, Bergen’s Electric Eye play droned out psych-rock inspired by the blues, India and the ever more expanding universe.

Theirs is a world of classic space rock where the ghosts of Hawkwind, Spacemen 3 and Secret Machines stalk the corridors alongside contemporaries like the Wooden Shjips and the Warlocks. Long jams formed from hypnotic pulsating guitar lines weave sonic patterns that ebb and flow like a storm over the incoming tide.

The four piece released their debut long-player, Pick-up, Lift-off, Space, Time, back in April last year as well as featuring on the compilation LP released by Fuzz Club and Austin Psych Fest called The Reverb Conspiracy Vol.2. They are kicking off 2014 by playing the Eurosonic Noorderslag on January 16th, and then making their debut SXSW appearence in Austin this March.

Have a listen and see what the fuss is all about. Check out their video we posted back in April 2013.
