Over the weekend we were fortunate to catch Titus Andronicus live for the first time at the excellent and intimate Bullingdon pub in Oxford. They did not disappoint.

However, before the main event Barry-Sean and I were thoroughly impressed by support band Washington Irving, who hail from Scotland, and who delivered a spirited set of anthemic indie rock with nods to folk (including traditional foot-stomping sea-shanty instrumentals) through to full-on raw-throated rabble rousing punk rawk. Think a cross somewhere between The Men They Couldn’t Hang and The Skids if you will.

New single We’re All Going To Die falls firmly into the latter category and was definitely a singalong highlight of a very strong set.

Have a listen.
