Here are no less than five fabulous, wildly different covers for you to sink your teeth, or ears, into.
We have Night Beats taking on the Beach Boys’ classic Sloop John B and giving it the full psych treatment (it comes from the upcoming A Tribute to Pet Sounds compilation).
Next up is Julien Baker’s striking cover of Elliott Smith’s Ballad Of Big Nothing which can be found (alongside 15 others), on the forthcoming compilation Say Yes! A Tribute To Elliott Smith, out October 14th via American Laundromat Records (pre-order here).
Another MM fave, Holly Miranda has shared a stunning, minimalistic cover of Drake’s Hold On, We’re Going Home, taken from a new covers EP called Party Trick (out next month).
Fourth, we have Porches who stopped by at Sirius XM to play some songs from the debut album Pool. As well as playing several album highlights the band dropped this version of The Strokes song Trying Your Luck from their iconic album Is This It.
Lastly, listen to This Will Destroy You’s “slow and low” version of Paper Cuts from the third Nirvana tribute album released via Robotic Empire entitled Doused In Mud, Soaked In Bleach.
