Bent Denim – Chasing Catherine

Ben Littlejohn and Denis Sager, otherwise known as Bent Denim, make glitchy, lush, Americana and dream-indie for the defeated – the kind that envelopes you whole and talks to you like an old friend. They have shared the brief, but exquisitely insular Chasing Catherine, the first track from their forthcoming new album Town and Country. New Album From Bonny Doon

The hazy melancholy and summery guitar swirls of Boony Doon’s self-titled debut album, released early last year, was a delightful discovery. Now the band are back with its follow-up Longwave, a conscious about-face from the sonic experimentation of the first album, and a journey inward. Delicate and spartan, we have the earnest and compassionate title track for you as well as the churning lope of A Lotta … Continue reading New Album From Bonny Doon

Simone Felice – The Fawn

We are muchly looking forward to Simone Felice’s new album The Projector, described as “a handcrafted album of lone guitars echoing in the twilight, nocturnal electronics and woodsy vocals.” The second track from it is The Fawn, and it certainly seems to be living up to the hype – intense, mesmeric and building to an undeniably powerful coda. Listen below.   Continue reading Simone Felice – The Fawn

New Album From Horse Feathers

Portland based band Horse Feathers have announced the release of their forthcoming album Appreciation, out on the 4th May via Kill Rock Stars. It is a mixture of strutting ‘70s-style country-pop, supple soul and folk ballads. The first single from the album is Without Applause.
