Portland based band Horse Feathers have announced the release of their forthcoming album Appreciation, out on the 4th May via Kill Rock Stars.
It is a mixture of strutting ‘70s-style country-pop, supple soul and folk ballads. The first single from the album is Without Applause. It is a singularly upbeat song which shows off their Northern Soul sensibilities in a swirl of Hammond organ, strings, and horns, while the lyrics show off a darker, far bleaker side. “It’s not the drinking, but the worry that does you in”
