MM Shorts 328: Great Mountain Fire

Great Mountain Fire’s debut album is called Canopy – apparently it manages to combine elements of Pink Floyd, The Klaxons, AC/DC and The Mystery Jets. And all to remarkably good effect if this taster track, Crooked Head is anything to go by. A frantically paced explosion of energy, topped with folk rhythm guitars and accompanied by a Pixies-like bass line. Have a listen. Continue reading MM Shorts 328: Great Mountain Fire

Georgiana Starlington To Release Paper Moon

We admit, when we first came across Georgiana Starlington,  we assumed it was going to be a solo performer, so were quite surprised to discover that in actuality it was duo Jack and Julie Hines who (even more surprisingly) are better known for the Black Lips and as the visceral K-Holes. Even more surprisingly because Georgiana Starlington actually play weary, sunburnt, country tinged music that meanders into psychedelia, shoegaze … Continue reading Georgiana Starlington To Release Paper Moon
