We’re loving the punk-pop of Hot 97 Summer Jam, the lead track from a new EP from Chumped called That’s The Thing Is Like. It precedes a debut full length, Teenage Retirement later in the autumn. Describing themselves as “bummer punk”, the track has an opening salvo which just about sums up their expectations of the classic girl-meets-boy scenario. “We’re reading books We’re drinking coffee I’m looking … Continue reading Introducing >>> Chumped

Visit their Bandcamp page here, or order the vinyl from Fat Wreck Records here. . Continue reading The Dirty Nil – Guided By Vices
Long standing psych-rockers Asteroid No.4 have announced they will be releasing their eighth full-length album this autumn. The band have shared a couple of tracks already from the record, the transcendent, fuzzed-out first track, Rukma Vimana and the pulsating, hypnotic Back Of Your Mind. Mixing krautrock, shoegaze, folk and some cosmic country whilst employing sitars, eastern-tinged sparsity, and space-rock fueled anthems, the results are a heady and gratifying stew of … Continue reading New From Asteroid No. 4

Like yesterday’s post about Elliott Brood, The Futurebirds are another long-term staple of MM. Their brand of southern-fried psych-jams and gothic tinged Americana has resulted in a whole series of excellent releases, and they remain one of the bands we would most like to see live. From Athens in Georgia, the band have teamed up with Jittery Joe’s Coffee to create the new Baba Java blend of … Continue reading The Futurebirds & Jittery Joe’s…
Long standing MM faves Elliott Brood are back with a new album in September titled Work And Love. The album mines the bare histories of their own lives: penning verses about the ends of relationships and the tests of adulthood, long drives, childhood retreating in a rear-view mirror. Work and Love also serves as a eulogy for the moments on the doorstep of manhood: first loves, … Continue reading New Album From Elliott Brood
