The Gathering - A Playlist

This weekend sees the annual Gathering festival in Oxford – a brilliant event that takes in seven venues around the city and runs from the afternoon into the wee small hours.

This year the line up includes such MM luminaries as Local Natives, Drenge, Waxahatchee, Temples, Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs, Pyyramids, Port Isla, Wolf Alice, To Kill A King, Cheatahs and a whole host more.

For a very reasonable £25 you get a wristband that gives you entry into all the events and venues and you just pick and choose whatever takes your fancy. Tickets are almost all gone, but you may be able to snap up one of the last few by clicking here.

If not, console yourself with this rather good playlist of tunes…

Videos of the Day

Our videos of the day come from Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs accompanying their excellent new single Things We Be, from insane noiseniks Wet Nuns, from Mac DeMarco with the official video for Ode To Viceroy from his excellent album 2 and from Charity Children, a rousing folk anthem – their tribute to the bullied and downtrodden with the video for Elizabeth, and the first single from forthcoming debut album The Autumn Came.

Introducing >>> Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs

Just caught a storming track on Marc Riley’s 6 Music show by Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs. Sadly, we didn’t catch what the song title was, but it was a storming slab of high octane riffing that made us turn the radio way past 11. (If you know the title post a comment and tell us!)

So, we had a quick look round and they are signed to Heavenly Recordings and have this demo up on Soundcloud and a couple of tracks on their Bandcamp page (including one free download). They will be supporting Toy on their forthcoming tour, which by our reckoning, means you should get there early if you’ve got a ticket.

Check the tour dates out here.
