Piney Gir to release Geronimo! In The USA

Raised in Kansas and not allowed to listen to secular music during her childhood, Piney Gir kicked off her church shoes to sing rock ‘n’ roll music, and has since drawn comparisons to Jenny Lewis and Nellie McKay. She grew up singing in choirs and playing the piano and drums, at the age of 14, when her father moved to start a prison ministry in Seattle, she was transferred to public school and suddenly exposed to popular culture; she soaked it up like a sponge.

The belated US release of most recent album Geronimo! has showcased her big-eared pop that references the Byrds, The Beach Boys, and Phil Spector while still somehow managing to sound entirely current.

Check out the album opener Outta Sight, and order from Amazon here.
