Caliana are a band named after their love for two states…California and Indiana. They happily cite influences as diverse as alt-country, reggae and soul and after listening to their EP Blood, Sweat & Beers it is possible to pick out elements of each.

Far from being a sloppy mish-mash though, the four songs are tightly constructed roots-led rockers that demonstrate a nice line in lyrical wordplay and toe-tapping rhythms. The whole thing can be picked up for free from their website here and you can also catch them playing at SxSW if you’re lucky enough to be going.
