Not a band this time, but a new label – Palmist is an independently run sister to FatCat Records. Based in Brighton they are specialising in a DIY ethic and limited run, vinyl only releases.
They’ve sent us details of their first two releases – two split 12″s featuring the hazy, insistent pop minimalism of the U.S. Girls (which we can’t stop playing) and the twisted pop-art of Toronto’s Slim Twig on the first, while the adrenalin fuelled noise punk of Bitches and sloppy garage rockers Yuppies appear on the other.
Having given sample tracks from all four a spin, we’re most impressed! All we can say is congratulations – both releases should be must-haves in our book. You can buy them here.
