Langhorne Slim's UK Release For The Way We Move

Last week Langhorne Slim & The Law released their most recent album, The Way We Move in the UK via Ramseur Records.

The album was recorded in a mere four days, working in the remote Catskill Mountains, north of New York City. The results are a raw, organic record that benefits from a straight-up, straight-forward songwriting approach. Nothing is obfuscated or confused, instead everything is laid on the line – heartfelt, honest and powerful. Musically, the record ranges from the uptempo folk stomp and joyful piano of album opener and title track, The Way We Move to the spare, poignant Song For Sid, a beautiful and evocative hymn to his late grandfather.

At 14 tracks it is not a short record, although it still manages to clock in under three quarters of an hour, but every song plays its part in delivering an album of startling conviction and emotion – Slim Langhorne delivers every note as though it might be his last. It is impossible not to find yourself carried along with the back-porch campfire singsongs and soulful laments in a way that is as immersive and as absorbing as anything we’ve heard in a good long while.

Watch. Listen. Order it here.
