In February 2013, singer-songwriter Wes Tirey produced and self-released his EP I Stood Among Trees, which is now available via Bandcamp for both a name-your-price digital download and a $5 physical CD.
His vivid imagery and stripped-down acoustic tunes are influenced by many of the things that make him unique – his Southern ancestry, American philosophers and authors, and legendary singer-songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen, and John Fahey. A stellar songwriter in the making, Tirey transforms the five tracks on I Stood Among Trees into an eloquent series of short stories that puts him right up there with some of our favourite modern day troubadours like Joe Pug and The Tallest Man On Earth.
Listen to the sparse and evocative Wild Beasts, by a whisker our favourite on the record.
