Mad Mackerel Recommends… DARTS

When I was a youngster, Darts were a late 70s corny, retro swing/doo-wop band that your parents liked.

Melbourne five-piece DARTS however, are a frenetic, no holds barred powerhouse of grunge, punk and indie rock that is just as melancholic as it is confrontational. One listen will induce flashbacks to early Modest Mouse, Pixies, The Breeders and Dinosaur Jr, all wrapped up in one furious punch that’s impossible to listen to without being totally absorbed.

Listen to Dead, the latest top notch single from debut album Below Empty & Westward Bound.

DARTS are most certainly not a band my parents would have liked. I like them even more because of this.
