Fourteen Songs You Should Have Heard This Week (Part 1)

best of the weekSo many good new tunes released this week – fourteen and counting – that we’ve had to split them into two posts.

Here are the first seven including a brilliant new single from the UK’s new saviour of indie guitar rock, Cabbage. Like a cross between Fat White Family, The Fall, and the Amazing Snakeheads. We have the new single from Samantha Crain’s upcoming album and three more excellent offerings from Secretly Canadian’s anti-Trump protest the First 100 Days project – Adam Torres, Jessica Lea Mayfield and a haunting solo performance from Hurray For The Riff Raff’s Alynda Segarra.

Rounding off Part 1 is some crushing, nihilistic punk from RMBLR and the return of indie folk trio The Staves who are sounding seriously fed up.

Listen. Enjoy. Check Part 2 tomorrow.

  1. Cabbage – Gibraltar Ape
  2. Samantha Crain – Antiseptic Greeting
  3. RMBLR – Miracle
  4. The Staves – Tired As Fuck
  5. Hurray For The Riff Raff – Everybody Knows
  6. Jessica Lea Mayfield – The World Won’t Stop (Demo)
  7. Adam Torres – Dreamers In America
