After a too long absence, the Twilight Sad have shared a new single, the curiously titled I/m Not Here [missing face].

It’s a driving, motorik return, with wailing guitars and swirling synths circling around frontman James Graham’s repeated declarations of “I don’t want to be around you anymore.” Graham describes the track’s lyrical basis as being “about my ongoing battle with not liking myself, trying to be a good person but constantly feeling like I’m failing myself and everyone I care about.

It’s a fabulous return – stream it below.

Following the recent release of their fourth full-length, Nobody Wants To Be Here and Nobody Wants To Leave, Scotland’s The Twilight Sad have unveiled the second official single from the album. It comes in the form of the graceful, yet ultimately sorrowful, I Could Give You All That You Don’t Want – a highlight from the LP, which has drawn uniformly good reviews everywhere we’ve looked.

Have a listen.

New Year Round Up. Here is a quick and dirty round up of some of the new tracks starting to circulate the web and on some of our favourite blogs. A chance to pick up any you might have missed…

We have some very tasty surf infused pop from Vivian Girl Katy Goodman’s side project Le Sera, a second taste from Of Montreal’s imminent new album, some viciously uncompromising (and brilliant) hardcore punk from new Matador signings Ceremony, and a taste of the new album from Scottish melancholy noise mongers The Twilight Sad. We also have the dreamy pop jangle of Frankie Rose and finally the chunky synth-beat and looping piano of buzzworthy Grimes and her new track Genesis.
