Introducing >>> Working Men’s Club

We’re thoroughly enjoying our first introduction to Working Men’s Club.

Named after the venues they used to sneak into, they are a new band made up of teenagers from Calder Valley – an area of old mill towns that links Leeds and Manchester.

Their jerky debut single Bad Blood fuses 70s Magazine style guitar lines with the stomp of Parquet Courts’ at their most punky. From The Knack style infectious grooves to half-spoken words with more than a touch of the late, great Mark E Smith drawl about them, it’s the feeling of a Saturday spent scuffing about in thrift stores and hanging out with friends.

Stream it here – ones to keep an eye, and an ear, on!
