There is always a slight amount of trepidation that accompanies a new release from a much-loved band, especially one that has been quiet for a good long while.

And there is always something a bit special when that trepidation turns to anticipation shortly into the first listen when you know they’ve not let you down, in fact far from it.

So it is with the Roadside Graves, who after far too long will release a new album That’s Why We’re Running Away via one of our favourite labels, Don Giovanni. We’ve been posting their songs since we started the blog in 2008, and damn if this new track Sit So Close isn’t one of the best things we’ve heard from them in all that time – plaintive, yearning Americana, but ultimately uplifting. Love this tune.
